2008 Nomination Process

The process for nominating a Brightest Star begins when a citizen submits a Brightest Stars nomination form. For the nomination form click here or download a copy of the application and submit it to Serve Idaho, Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism by March 1, 2008. Please submit on-line if possible.

Submit the on-line nomination form or mail it to Serve Idaho, Governor’s Commission on Service and Volunteerism, PO Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0018. Please use the full zip code to ensure proper delivery. All nomination materials must be received by March 1, 2008.

Serve Idaho compiles the Brightest Stars nominations by category and reviews each application to ensure that they are complete.

A statewide Prize Panel then reviews the nomination forms.

The Prize Panel selects the top three nominations in each category and they are presented to the Governor and First Lady for final consideration.

The Governor and First Lady review the top finalists and select the Grand Prize Winner in each category.

Nominees not selected as Grand Prize Winners will be recognized as Brightest Stars, along with the Grand Prize Winners, at the Governor’s Brightest Stars Awards Ceremony at the Egyptian Theater in Boise on Thursday March 27, 2008.

Invitations to the Awards Ceremony will be sent to all Brightest Stars.

All Brightest Stars will have a photo opportunity with the Governor and First Lady the day of the awards ceremony. A Photo schedule will be sent with the invitation.

Grand Prize Winners will be presented with a Brightest Stars award. All other Brightest Stars will be recognized and receive a Brightest Stars certificate and pin.
